There are several organizations that work to support the Alameda Free Library. Here's who they are and what they do.
Alameda Free Library Foundation
Founded in 1998, the Alameda Free Library Foundation seeks to supplement public funding with private financial support to ensure quality library services are available now and in the future. Donations to the Foundation and proceeds from fundraising events add to an endowment that provides an annual gift to the Library as well as shorter term contributions.
The Foundation conducts annual solicitations, receives bequests from dedicated library supporters, and sponsors fundraising events including author conversations, concerts in the library and programs for children, teens, adults, teachers and parents. The Foundation and Friends of the Library cosponsor events such as the staff appreciation lunch and the fall concert series. Donors to the Foundation have the opportunity to name a variety of items, shelves, stacks, furnishings, etc., in each of the three branches of the library. View Our Donor Brochure or Donate Now!
The Foundation Board is comprised of members of the Alameda community who bring a wealth of experience, talent and resources to our organization.
